Futures in Computer Science
Eligibility
In addition to the standard eligibility criteria, you must also be studying the following subjects (or their equivalents) to be considered for the Computer Science programme:
- A-Level Mathematics
How does the Computer Science Programme work?
As part of the Computer Science programme, you will be allocated:
- A tutorial group (approx. 7 – 10 participants per group)
- A Computer Science programme tutor-mentor
The Computer Science programme takes place during the school term-time from April of Year 12 through to May of Year 13, with a different Computer Science topic discussed in each three-week cycle as shown below:
Three-Week Programme Cycle
Participants attend a one-hour online tutorial with a programme tutor and up to 10 other participants.
Questions relating to the topic and the self-study pack from the previous cycle will be addressed and discussions facilitated between the participants and the tutor.
Participants attend a one-hour online mentoring session with their tutor-mentor.
Participants will have opportunities to discuss a range of topics, such as University life, UCAS applications, and more.
Participants receive an online introductory study pack for a certain Computer Science topic.
Students complete structures self-study questions and submit responses to tutor-mentors for review.
