Futures in Maths
Part of the National Levelling Up: Maths suite of programmes.
Eligibility
In addition to the standard eligibility criteria, you must also be studying the following subjects (or their equivalents) to be considered for the Maths programme:
- A-Level Mathematics
- A-Level Further Mathematics
How does the Maths Programme work?
As part of the Maths programme, you will be allocated:
- A tutorial group (max. 5 participants per group)
- A Maths programme tutor/mentor
The Maths programme takes place during the school term-time from March of Year 12 through to May of Year 13, with a different A-level Maths topic discussed in each two-week cycle.
Two-Week Programme Cycle
Participants receive materials prepared by the London Mathematical Society to be read prior to the online tutorials.
Topics cover a range of A-level Maths subjects such as Proof, Trigonometry, Vectors, etc.
Participants attend a 90-minute online tutorial with a programme tutor and up to 5 other participants.
Questions relating to the topic and the pre-reading from Week 1 will be addressed and discussions facilitated between the participants and the tutor.
